Shree Guruprasadam

Then he wrote the Sanskrit one act play Shree Guruprasadam with dialogues so simple as to be intelligible to a modern mixed audience without any special study of Sanskrit. It was in fact enacted before the mixed audience of the office and was well received. This is a play written on the famous incident in the life of the great king Dileepa immortalized by Mahakavi Kalidasa in his Raghuvamsa. The three changes made are
1. The divine sage Narada has been brought in for advice on

Gurubhakti- devotion to Guru – to the king and his queen Sudakshina
2. The test of Dileepa’s devotion is shown to be carried out by
Guru . Vasishtha and
3. In addition to the Lion Kumbhodara, his friend Nikumbha is brought in a human form with Lion’s mouth as a Shivagana .The
essence of the conversation between Kumbhodara and Dileepa is
introduced in the same effective style as the original .A few characters and incidents have been introduced with a view to creating the atmosphere of the hermitageHimalayas etc The script was appreciatedby the well
known Sanskrit Scholar, Prof.Dr.Keshao Joshi of Nagpur
