Amrita-Tarangini

   Amrita-Tarangini was written by the present author on a divine direction heard in a dream, which prompted him to compose it in an easy style to be intelligible to one and all of Marathi speaking public. The original Shree Gurucharitra is in the old Marathi “oyee” meter and is of great length. In contains the Lords teachings and his miracles, which are a solace to readers and a panacea in difficulties. It is generally read by devotees before Guru Pornima and Lord Dattatraya Jayanti. But those who are in distress or are about to undertake something new cananddo read it, any time they feel like. Its usual recitation is a weekly Anushthana, which means two hours daily sitting for seven days. Such an Anushthana bestows great religious merit, wards off evils and one’s desires are fulfilled with the blessings of Shree Guru Narsimha Saraswati .
